COA IX, Civil Society hold dialogues to enhance citizen participation in Public Audit 

 

 

Some 60 participants from the Commission on Audit (COA) and various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Non – Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and external stakeholders  of Zamboanga City  from Zamboanga City  recently gathered in COA IX Regional Training Center, Cabatangan last November 7,2019 for Citizen Participatory Audit (CPA) Dialogue/ Meeting.

This was  conducted in relation to COA’s commitment in the Open Government Partnership National Action Plan for 2017-2022. The CPA Dialogues is conducted for the purpose of fostering an open space for the COA, citizens, and other external stakeholders to share visions and aspirations, goals and objectives; information on risks and areas to be focused on in audit, and knowledge, talents, expertise and resources that they have and can share; to provide information on their respective needs to enable them to better work together as partners; and, to present their concerns and together identify possible ways to address them. Directors Aida Talavera and Monet Jimenez of PMO, from COA central Office facilitated the same as both RPS and facilitators.

 

 

 

During the one-day activity, representatives of the COA, CSOs, and other external stakeholders, were able to share their aspirations and goals for the CPA as well as identify programs, projects, and activities that they want to be audited.
