COA IX Breaks Ground for COA Training Center and Dormitory Building

The Commission on Audit (COA) Regional Office IX (RO IX) successfully held on Monday, August 7, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of its Training Center and Dormitory Building at Turno, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.

The event was attended by key COA Officials and personnel led by Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc, General Services Office Director Amelia P. Valdez,  OIC-Regional Director Marisol D. Legaspi, Local Government Audit Sector-A Supervising Auditor Atty. Katrina Q. Acana.  Zamboanga del Norte Governor Rosalina G. Jalosjos and Dipolog City Mayor Darel Dexter T. Uy also graced the occasion.

Commissioner Roland C. Pondoc, in his speech, stated that  the project  will provide convenience to COAns of the Province of Zamboanga del Norte as they will no longer need to travel far to attend trainings. He also  reminded  COA Attendees to keep on being an embodiment of integrity and to be enabling partners of government agencies.

The groundbreaking rites began with the laying of the time capsule which was led by Commissioner Pondoc. All other attending dignitaries then took turns in pouring earth fillings on the laid time capsule as a symbol in officially commencing the construction of the building.

The 3-storey Training Center and Dormitory Building will house the training center on the first floor, and the dormitory on the second floor and with an open space with roofing on the third floor. The construction is expected to be completed  in a year.
